About The Position
MBP is looking for an entry-level Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional eager to build a strong foundation in construction management, project controls, and on-site client representation across a variety of project sectors.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- FE/EIT preferred
- Engineering principles of construction management and project controls
- One or more of the following services: critical path method scheduling, cost estimating, project budgeting, delay analysis, constructibility and design review, inspections, quantity take-offs
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, CADD, and graphics applications
- Strong writing capabilities
- Read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and technical reports
- Maintain records and prepare reports and correspondence related to the work
- Communicate effectively with others and maintain favorable public relations
- Work independently on assigned tasks
- Stand and sit as needed on project work sites, climb ladders, work at heights, and work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions
- Safely navigate construction work sites with uneven terrain
- OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification required, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Nice To Haves
- Some construction work experience preferred
- Experience may be in the following sectors: federal, state, municipal, K-12 school, water/wastewater, higher education, laboratory facilities, transportation, ports, or marina projects
- Industry certifications specific to duties assigned, or ability to obtain and maintain
Responsibilities
- Support project teams by serving as an on-site representative of the client
- Contribute to project documentation
- Apply engineering principles to real-world construction challenges
- Work closely with experienced professionals who will guide your development
- Prepare project documentation, cost estimates, schedules, and plan reviews
- Research and organize project records to support ongoing assignments
- Review project records, schedules, and as-built construction to evaluate change orders and requests for extension of time
- Independently apply engineering techniques and analyze problems and methods
- Coordinate the quality and timeliness of deliverables
- Participate in company training programs, company activities, and administrative duties
- Perform other duties as assigned
