About The Position

As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs critical testing primarily for aerospace customers within the department, ensuring timely and accurate test results. Collaborates with other departments to develop custom test solutions that span multiple disciplines to support customer needs.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude and experience troubleshooting complex machinery or equipment
  • Working knowledge of dynamics, vibration and shock theory and related systems
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus
  • Have the ability to work on well-defined issues, standard and/or routine tests, without significant guidance or supervision
  • Takes Initiative and, in most cases, does not need to wait for further instruction
  • Able to decide on and implement appropriate testing methods and protocols
  • Leads and assigns the work of others when needed
  • Analytical/technical knowledge provides a marked impact on overall laboratory technical capabilities and services
  • Adapt at managing job priority and work time in accordance with targets/goals set by supervisor
  • Under the close guidance of advanced Engineers in the laboratory, works on well delineated technical issues including standard and routine analysis
  • Defined work experience has impact on the day to day technical decisions made on timely delivery of laboratory testing services and customer support
  • Recognized by colleagues within the lab as possessing strong technical knowledge
  • Has a clearly demonstrated ability to apply an array of testing techniques in a rational and practical style to help examine issues and build solutions
