About The Position

The position is part of the utility of the future (Integrated Planning & Grid Innovation) group, and is responsible to proactively drive the development of Reforming Energy Vision (REV) capabilities and meet REV objectives as they evolve in the New York State regulatory environment. This group is expected to evolve consistent with the Distributed System Implementation Plan (DSIP) structure in other NYS utilities to fully integrate REV opportunities and build on its experience for the future. It is envisioned that the PSEG LI Utility of the Future function will grow to support incremental workload associated with development of various aspects of Distributed System Platform (DSP), notably to support various engineering and analytical effort to realize system optimizations associated with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and enabling platforms to provide granular information to the Distributed Energy Resource (DER) interconnection customer. The Integrated Planning & Grid Innovation group conducts detailed power system analysis to conduct specialized studies to enable ways to increase hosting capacity on the system, and develops cost effective solutions using cutting edge technology such as AMI meter data. Also the team works closely with internal and external organizations to implement project to advance distribution system platform. This organization integrates infrastructure planning, innovative/demonstration projects and makes strategic decisions required to move towards the grid of the future. This position offers challenging opportunities and problem solving scenarios where the engineer will be able to incorporate and observe his or her creative ideas come to fruition. On the job training and adequate guidance are provided to engineers as needed.
