About The Position

BHE GT&S has an exciting opportunity as an Engineer I, Engineer II, Sr Engineer or Sr Engineer II at our White Oaks General Office Building in Bridgeport, WV. Responsibilities Performs difficult and complex work requiring strong technical skills and significant knowledge and experience within the functional area or specific engineering discipline. Provides expert technical support, direction, and advice in analyzing and evaluating systems, equipment, and programs. Implements technology within an engineering field. Focuses on the practical application of engineering theories. perform product improvement, testing, field engineering, development, manufacturing construction systems development, quality control, and operational engineering. provide technical project management, including scoping, scheduling, budget development, cost tracking, and oversight of complex projects to meet cost and time objectives. Design, develop and program software for real time programmable logic controllers (PLC) and distributed process control systems (DCS) Design and develop graphical user screens utilized within human machine interfaces (HMI's) Design and configure control communication networks Evaluate, Design and configure Cyber Security protections Configure desktop operator workstations Design process control flow diagrams Design piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID’s) Procure control instrumentation and digital process control equipment Develop specifications for instrumentation, electrical power requirements, hazardous location electronic control equipment Develop material requisitions; review bids for equipment and service contracts Design digital electronic control panel drawings for placement in hazardous location Coordinate control system start-up and commissioning Support, maintain, and troubleshoot electronic and pneumatic control systems

Requirements

Engineer I: 0-2+ years of related engineering experience
Engineer II: Engineering degree from an accredited college/university and 1-3 years experience.
Sr Engineer/Sr. Engineer II: Engineering degree from an accredited college/university and 5 years industry experience.
Engineer I/ Engineer II: Four-year ABET accredited engineering degree (Engineer)
Ability to monitor changes in technology with skill in developing, testing and recommending new ideas and strategies for the utilization of those changes.
Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering schematics, drawings, and technical manuals.
Demonstrated ability to prepare technical reports, project schedules, and cost estimates.
Ability to lead, work independently, communicate effectively, and establish rapport.
Ability to define problems, collect accurate data, draw valid conclusions, and develop solutions.
Demonstrated ability to effectively operate a personal computer and common software applications.
Sr Engineer/Sr Engineer II: Four-year ABET accredited engineering degree (Engineer).
Full knowledge of engineering theories and principles.
Skilled in use of advanced techniques and modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices of the field and related sciences and disciplines.
Strong leadership skills with proven ability to serve as team project lead.
Provide guidance to less experienced engineers.
Strong oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing).
Strong personal computer skills.
Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems.
Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices.
In depth knowledge of various computer applications, with the ability to manipulate personal computer applications and perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs (e.g., Matlab, Excel, etc.).
Equally effective working independently or in team environment.
Proven decision-making skills.
Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks.
Strong planning, organizational and project management skills.
Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited engineering program based on the year that the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or
Possess a 4-year engineering degree from a non-ABET accredited program and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
Possess a 4-year degree in Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.
