About The Position

This is a wide-ranging position that contributes to the department responsible for supporting systems involved in studio production and transmission. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to learn independently, a tenacity for evaluating and improving systems, exceptional troubleshooting skills, and an understanding of signal flow and production tools.

Requirements

10+ years of hands-on experience supporting studio and postproduction environments.
Experience supporting production switchers, multi-viewer systems, large-scale audio consoles, and intercom systems.
Basic computer and networking skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn.
Advanced knowledge of current and future television systems and formats, including SMPTE 2110.
Understanding of fiber optic and copper networking technologies.
Self-starter and a team player.
Detail oriented, meticulous and able to maintain confidentiality.
Demonstrate the tact, diplomacy, decisiveness, and superior people skills required in the pressurized environment of live television.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Ability to sit, stand, kneel, for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
Possess the manual dexterity needed to effectively create required work product.
Possess the visual acuity needed to effectively create required work product.
Possess the auditory acuity needed to effectively create required work product.
Prompt and regular attendance at an assigned work location.

Nice To Haves

AutoCAD knowledge is a plus.
An understanding of common video compression standards (MPEG2, H.264/AVC, HEVC) as well as video transmission protocols/formats (MPEG2 transport stream, SCTE35, ASI, RTP, SRT, RIST) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Support and maintain multiple studio production environments.
Support large postproduction and SAN systems.
Support advanced television graphics systems.
Support transmission systems.
Manage assigned vendor issues until full through full resolution.
Lead the management of broadcast technologies at the engineering and operational levels.
Perform other duties as required.
