About The Position

Buchart Horn is seeking an Engineer to join our Water Resources Strategic Business Unit in Marlton, NJ. This role is ideal for an engineer looking to develop their technical skills and gain experience working on the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of municipal and utility projects while collaborating with experienced engineers, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Level of responsibility will vary based on experience, with opportunities to take on greater project responsibility as your skills and experience develop.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required
  • Knowledge of water and wastewater conveyance systems, treatment systems, and process design
  • Experience with or interest in developing proficiency with engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with hydraulic or process modeling software such as WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, BioWin, or similar tools preferred
  • Experience with land development and stormwater systems preferred
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively while managing multiple priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment facilities, pumping stations, and collection and distribution systems
  • Support land development and stormwater design related to water and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Prepare engineering plans, specifications, calculations, technical reports, and other project documentation
  • Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and design evaluations
  • Utilize design and engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools
  • Support hydraulic and process modeling activities using tools such as WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, BioWin, or similar software
  • Assist with permitting efforts and ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and design standards
  • Coordinate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout project phases
  • Monitor project progress, identify technical challenges, and assist in developing solutions
  • Support construction-related activities, including site observations, shop drawing review, and responses to contractor questions
  • Contribute to proposal development and other business development activities as needed
  • Continue developing knowledge of water and wastewater regulations, technologies, and industry best practices
