About The Position

An Engineer V serves as a principal investigator and individual contributor to contract research, development, integration, and sustainment projects. The role involves developing and applying advanced methods, theories, and research techniques to solve complex system design requirements and problems. The position requires conducting investigations of considerable complexity, providing technical consultation to other organizations or customers, and direct interface with internal and external customers from quotation to final design. The Engineer V will act as a liaison for test activities, design reviews, and technical working group meetings, and will plan, conduct, and technically direct projects or major phases of significant projects. Responsibilities include reviewing the completion and implementation of systems additions/enhancements, recommending corrections, representing the company as a technical advisor in high-level meetings, and preparing/delivering technical papers and engineering studies. The role also supports the development of technical proposals, acts as an expert resource on complex engineering problems, maintains technical project responsibility, advises management on progress, conducts site visits and experimental investigations, analyzes engineering problems, proposes solutions, and develops/interprets technical and administrative operating policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and 14 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited doctorate degree in engineering and a minimum of eight (8) years of related engineering experience
  • Well-established, substantial, professional reputation in one or more of the principal technical disciplines of the company
  • Demonstrated ability to direct senior technical personnel in project assignments involving research, development, integration, and sustainment of complex systems or processes
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools
  • Superior communications skills, both verbal and written, in day-to-day project activities as well as in briefing customers and in writing reports and proposals
  • Planning/organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlines
  • Must possess a valid, state issued driver’s license
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Have a strong background in developmental flight test as well as understanding requirements development, as well as sensor and weapons systems on major USAF offensive systems

Responsibilities

  • Maintain technical project responsibility for assigned tasks and advise management of progress in support of the technical and administrative direction of project operations
  • Conduct site visits and experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations
  • Develop, interpret, and implement technical and administrative operating policies and procedures
  • Perform other job-related duties, as required
  • Develop, execute, and report on classified test events focused on verification and validation of system requirement, integrated model capabilities, and data architectures to determine that the digital battlespace environment properly represents virtualized open air engagements.
  • Understand data systems related to monitoring test real-time within control room systems as well as post test data analysis tools
