About The Position

Clymer Farner Barley, Inc. (CFB) is a dynamic and innovative company specializing in civil engineering and land surveying services. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Engineer V (Civil Engineer) to join our team in our Middleton/The Villages (HQ) office. As an Engineer V, you will lead the planning, design, and execution of complex civil engineering projects involving land development, stormwater management, utilities, roadways, and drainage systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, sound professional judgment, and the ability to manage projects, mentor staff, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams from concept through construction.

Requirements

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
  • Strong understanding of engineering standards, permitting processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Engineer IV qualifications required.

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ years of experience in civil design and/or construction preferred.
  • Experience with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software such as StormWise or Bentley programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Independently evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria for complex civil engineering projects.
  • Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform advanced engineering calculations and prepare/review plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, permit applications, and other technical documents.
  • Support projects through research, field investigations, construction oversight, contractor submittal reviews, RFIs, and technical guidance during construction.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Assign tasks, provide technical direction, and mentor junior engineering staff while supporting team development and leadership growth.
  • Attend meetings and effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
