About The Position

This position is responsible for the design of transmission lines, including routing, permitting, dynamic monitoring, optimizing, structure spotting, conductor selection, fiber optic utilization, joint attachments, and foundations. The applicant will work in a team environment and be responsible for defining scopes, estimating costs, producing full construction packages, analyzing line clearances, and attending on-site project meetings. The applicant will also interface with other Entergy Groups including Substation, Distribution, Marketing, Project Management, Asset Management, Environmental personnel, Configuration Management personnel, as well as external customers. Good organizational and communication skills are required. A team player is a necessity, with good decision-making skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Discipline (typically Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) from a four-year accredited institution.
  • Degrees in engineering technology (typically, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) from a four-year accredited institution with PE may be considered.
  • Engineer I - 0 to 2 years experience in an engineering discipline
  • Engineer II - 2+ years experience in an engineering discipline
  • Engineer III - 4+ years experience in an engineering discipline.
  • Engineer Sr - 6+ years experience in an engineering discipline.
  • Technical mastery of engineering principles.
  • In-depth knowledge of procedures, programs, and standards in responsible area.
  • Consistently drives for value in sound engineering decisions.
  • Good leadership skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills along with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent math skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Good knowledge of Personal Computer operations and related software.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Demonstrated acceptance of a diverse and inclusive work environment and customer base.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is a precondition to employment in this position.

Responsibilities
