About The Position

Technical expert responsible for independently identifying, engineering, and optimizing data, reporting, and integration solutions that address critical business needs within Clinical Supply Management (CSM). Serves as the reporting and systems-data subject matter expert for the Clinical Supply Systems (CSS) group — designing and delivering operational reports, metrics, and dashboards from GxP clinical supply systems, engineering and supporting system-to-system integrations with external vendor platforms, and continuously improving the processes and master data that those systems depend on. Additionally serves as Business System Owner for assigned CSM systems, accountable for their ongoing health, change management, business continuity and end-user support. Continuously seeks to improve existing methods and processes. Demonstrates proficiency across a broad range of information technology engineering techniques, including SQL development, data integration, reporting and data visualization, API-based system integration, and database and data-warehouse concepts.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least 5 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in a relevant field and at least 4 years of relevant experience.
Strong, demonstrable SQL development skills, including query authoring, tuning and troubleshooting against relational databases (Oracle and/or PostgreSQL).
Hands-on experience developing and deploying reports in Jaspersoft / JasperReports, including parameterization, scheduling and distribution.
Working understanding of relational database design, data models and data-warehouse concepts, and the ability to navigate an unfamiliar schema to locate and validate data.
Experience supporting or engineering system-to-system integrations, including API/interface concepts, log analysis and structured root cause investigation.
Ability to work directly with business stakeholders to elicit requirements and translate them into technical deliverables; strong customer orientation and prioritization skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, including communicating technical findings to non-technical stakeholders and to external vendor technical teams.
Goal-oriented, independent working style with exceptional follow-up skills, and the ability to think and act across multiple functions.
Demonstrated ownership of a business system or application, including accountability for change management, access and role definition, vendor release coordination and end-user communication.
Prior experience in clinical drug development, clinical supply chain, in a GMP regulated environment.
Familiarity with clinical supply management systems (IRTs, Signant’s PMD, Loftware’s P360, Master Control’s Mx) and with vendor platforms such as Sensitech SensiWatch.
Experience with computer system validation, UAT, change control, periodic review, disaster recovery testing and GxP documentation practices.

Responsibilities

Independently design, develop, test and deploy operational and management reports, dashboards and KPI views against clinical supply systems using Jaspersoft and SQL against Oracle and PostgreSQL data sources. Gather requirements directly from business stakeholders, translate them into report specifications, build parameterized and filterable reports with dynamic titling and drill-down, publish to the reporting server, and own them through user acceptance and ongoing maintenance.
Act as Business System Owner for assigned Clinical Supply Management systems, in line with the Clinical Supply Systems Owner role definition. Accountable for the day-to-day health, configuration and supportability of the owned system(s), including: change management and change control; business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing; interface and integration error handling and monitoring; definition and documentation of business roles and system access; coordination of upgrades, patches and vendor releases with business and IT partners; periodic review and system lifecycle documentation; and end-user communication for outages, releases and process changes. Serves as the primary point of contact between the business user community, global IT and the external system vendor for the owned system(s), and represents the system in cross-functional governance forums.
Engineer, test and support integrations between CSM systems and external vendor platforms — including the TRACK / CSS Inventory to Sensitech SensiWatch temperature-monitoring integration and associated Veeva Vault end-to-end flows. Design and implement API logging and monitoring mechanisms to make integration behavior observable; coordinate the required database, network ACL and firewall configuration across Development and Production; and drive end-to-end testing with internal IT and external vendor engineering teams.
Serve as first-line technical investigator for interface and integration failures. Correlate application logs, API responses and database activity to establish root cause, distinguish vendor-side from AbbVie-side faults, and communicate findings directly to external vendor technical contacts and internal stakeholders. Resolve issues of low to moderate complexity independently and escalate appropriately, engaging global IT support and external system providers when required.
Own the input, administration and quality of master data in CSM systems, including item master classifications, data mappings and the representation of external partners and depots. Assess the downstream impact of master data changes on dependent system functionality, reporting and integrations before implementation.
Identify and deliver automation and optimization opportunities that increase efficiency within CSM. Prepare proposals for cross-departmental process improvements, and take new local processes from concept through requirements, testing and implementation together with the relevant business area.
Support system lifecycle activities including documentation, user requirement specifications, UAT execution and approval, system access approvals and coordination of upgrade and change activities with business and IT partners. Evaluate change control and change management impacts for the Clinical Supply Systems group. Produce and maintain the technical documentation associated with delivered work.
Prepare and maintain training materials for CSM systems and deliver system training to new and existing users. Prepare and update global SOPs and work instructions relating to Clinical Supply Systems. Act as a resource and mentor to others on reporting tools and system data.
Communicate with global users of CSM systems to scope requests, resolve problems and evaluate new processes. Maintain working relationships with external vendors and service providers in accordance with AbbVie Values, Vendor Management Office and Purchasing expectations. Contribute input to project time and cost estimates.
Evaluate new IT systems and tooling with regard to functionality, data model and integration options with the existing CSM system landscape. Understand and adhere to applicable Corporate and Divisional policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security and the software development lifecycle.
