About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking an Entry-Level Verification and Validation (V&V) Systems Engineer to support our work as the prime contractor for a high‑visibility U.S. Navy weapon system program. The ideal candidate thrives in a multidisciplinary engineering environment, communicates effectively, and collaborates proactively across organizational boundaries. We are looking for an engaging, team‑oriented problem‑solver who can operate with initiative and adapt quickly within a dynamic program landscape. In this role, the engineer will work closely with multiple engineering teams supporting the U.S. Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) office. Responsibilities include: Supporting refinement of the program’s verification strategy and approach Conducting verification activities using system requirements, verification methods, and producing design compliance reports Assisting in the development and maintenance of the Requirements Verification and Traceability Matrix (RVTM) Performing data analysis and collaborating with teams to support verification and validation of system requirements Conducting impact and traceability assessments and recommending corrective actions Preparing technical documentation, presentations, data packages, and white papers Participating in IPTs, working groups, and communities of practice Attending customer staff meetings Supporting execution of the Systems Engineering Verification process, including technical reviews

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline with at least 2 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10%

Nice To Haves

  • Up to 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience defining a verification process for a new program
  • Experience within the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) environment
  • INCOSE Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) certification

Responsibilities

  • Supporting refinement of the program’s verification strategy and approach
