About The Position

As a part-time Engineer Support employee, you will assist the engineering team with communications and support for branches and customers. The role includes participating in laboratory testing, print reviews, customer standards reviews, development of engineering resources and articles, customer-specific cost-savings and consolidation projects, and other technical functions. A flexible schedule may be available after onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have a current, valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located, meet applicable graduated-license requirements, and meet driving-record requirements to use a company vehicle as needed.
Possess or be working toward a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field, or have previous work experience in the fastener industry.
Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities.
Exhibit strong problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making skills.
Be able to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Be able to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 pounds and sometimes up to 75 pounds.
Pass the required drug screen, applicable in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Guam only.
Pass a background check required by a customer or contract serviced by the location.

Responsibilities

Provide technical assistance to branches and customers.
Review customer prints and standards.
Provide laboratory testing support for standard and customer-specific testing.
Create technical resources, articles, and calculators for technical teams and customers.
Support projects by identifying cost-savings and consolidation opportunities for customers.
