About The Position

The TFS Station Engineer provides engineering and technical support for transmission substations and high-voltage equipment. This position works closely with TFS Station personnel, P&C, Engineering, Operations, Project Management, and contractors to support safe, reliable, and compliant operation of the transmission system. The role provides on site support of equipment installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, modernization, emergency restoration, and capital projects while serving as a technical resource for field personnel.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET
Possesses entry-level knowledge and experience in the application of theory to solve well-defined problems or provide analysis, with guidance from higher-level engineers.
Assists higher-level engineers in handling well-defined portions of more complex problems and analyses.
Exhibits fundamental understanding of standards, codes and regulations relevant to the area of assignment.
Gains familiarity with standards, codes and regulations relevant to the area of assignment.
Gains familiarity with pertinent equipment, materials, systems and business processes.
Coordinates work activities of others as required to resolve routine engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for transmission substation equipment and systems.
Assist field personnel with troubleshooting, equipment failures, abnormal conditions, and condition assessments.
Develop practical solutions considering safety, reliability, constructability, and maintainability.
Support accurate station documentation, equipment configuration, and regulatory compliance.
Participate in project scoping, design reviews, walkdowns, commissioning, and closeout.
Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, P&C, Operations, contractors, and field personnel.
Provide technical oversight and review applicable commissioning test results.
Support preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
Evaluate equipment deficiencies and recurring reliability concerns.
Support failure investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Assist with maintenance and equipment replacement planning.
Support outage and emergency restoration activities.
Provide engineering support for mobile transformer and skid installations.
