About The Position

BAE Systems Space & Mission Systems is seeking a Chief Engineer for a new, high-priority radar program delivering advanced capabilities to DoW and Intelligence Community customers. This is a mission-critical leadership role responsible for establishing and maintaining the technical baseline, system architecture, and engineering execution strategy across the full lifecycle from concept through development, integration, production, and sustainment. The Chief Engineer will operate as the single-point technical authority for the program, partnering with program leadership and customers to drive performance, reduce risk, and ensure successful delivery. The Engineering Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers’ missions. Requirements

  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 10 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • A current, active Secret security clearance is required with ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret.
  • 10+ years radar/RF systems experience.
  • Experience as Chief Engineer or technical authority.
  • Deep radar and system integration expertise.
  • Full lifecycle development experience.
  • Excellent systems engineering background.
  • Leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and executive briefing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Chief Engineer and technical authority.
  • Manage technical baseline and configuration control.
  • Lead architecture and integration trades.
  • Guide program through SRR, PDR, CDR, PRR.
  • Drive risk management and technical decisions.
  • Oversee modeling and simulation.
  • Align SEIT, test, manufacturing, and mission assurance.
  • Partner with Program Management.
  • Represent program to leadership and customers.
  • Mentor engineering staff.
  • Support proposals and capture efforts.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company.
  • Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
