About The Position

Candidate will perform engineering design of railroad/transit infrastructure and facility projects, including coordination with architectural and other engineering design disciplines. Candidate shall perform railroad/transit engineering of track, overhead catenary, traction power, signals, communication and other engineering disciplines related to railroad systems. The candidate shall perform field investigations, analyze existing conditions and prepare engineering reports. Candidate will independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using engineering judgment. The candidate will be responsible for engineering services through all phases of project execution Planning, Design, Construction and Close Out. Responsibilities include the review and disposition of requests for information, submittals, schedules, and other contract related documents. The candidate will work with stakeholders and contractors to advance progress during the construction and close out phases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.), with a solid course background in analysis/design.
  • Proficiency with CADD (Autocadd and/or Microstation), and associated 3D design applications like Civil 3D, and Revit.
  • Microsoft Office software proficiency is required.
  • Good writing/communication skills are necessary.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Minimum of three (3) or more years’ experience in progressively responsible positions.
  • Experience using engineering computer software, including CADD.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Ability to pass a Background Check.

Nice To Haves

  • Three to Five years engineering design experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with BOCA, NYC Building Code and Other Applicable Codes and Standards.
