Impact you'll make: As a Product Definition Engineer – Gas Power Engineering, you will play a key role in transforming engineering concepts into high-quality digital product definitions that power critical energy solutions. In this role, you will create and manage 3D CAD models, drawings, and product data using advanced tools such as NX, Enovia, and Teamcenter, ensuring design accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with engineering standards. You will collaborate across disciplines to drive design integrity, improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost, and support issue resolution from design through manufacturing and field operations. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or Technical Associates degree with 3+ years of relevant product definition experience.
  • Basic understanding of solid modeling software and model-based product definition.

Responsibilities

  • Create 3D CAD models and drawings using NX CAD software.
  • Utilize applicable PLM system (Enovia / Teamcenter) to manage and issue product definition data.
  • Define geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) required for proper clearances and fits while maximizing manufacturing capabilities.
  • Analyze and implement improvements in key areas of Safety , quality, delivery and cost.
  • Ensure design integrity and no high-risk escaping defects and drive improvements in FPY (error reduction).
  • Develop interface characteristics between components under direction and agreed upon by owners of mating parts/systems.
  • Self-Check, Peer Check, validate, and issue models, drawings and Bill of materials.
  • Manage concurrent Engineering processes, understand input from the different engineering disciplines, monitor progress and quality, ensure schedule requirements are met and communicate progress, status, risk, needed inputs and target release dates to stakeholders through daily management routines.
  • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma tools to define procedural gaps and lead the development of generating or updating Standard work to be followed.
  • Continually learn and apply the latest techniques relative to CAD software, Data Management Systems (DMS) and MBE (Model Based Enterprise).
