HF Sinclair is seeking an engineer for assignments within the Engineering Department. This role involves working independently and acting as a resource, potentially leading less experienced personnel. The position requires monitoring and ensuring the performance of high complexity refinery process units, investigating and resolving process-related malfunctions and anomalies, and coordinating Process Hazard Analyses (PHA). The engineer will own the Management of Change (MOC) process for assigned units and divisions, provide process optimization guidance to ensure safety, environmental compliance, and profitability, and maintain the integrity of business unit data. Responsibilities also include creating and maintaining unit technical process standards, providing engineering assistance and mentoring, supporting capital project development, developing project scopes and budgets, and conducting economic analyses for process operations to drive cost savings and yield improvements. The role requires staying abreast of industry innovations and providing training on PHA, Incident Investigation, MOC, and Pre-start up Safety Reviews (PSSR). Participation in process safety audits, LOPA reviews, and solution development for action items is also expected. The engineer will design plant equipment and processes, conduct research for new and improved processes, recommend improvements, review vendor proposals, assist with clean fuel projects, design plant additions/modifications, and act as a liaison with government agencies.
