About The Position
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Engineer or Principal Engineer based in Huntsville, Alabama, to support the IBCS Poland Integrated Battle Command System. IBCS is a network-enabled command-and-control system that unifies air and missile defense sensors and shooters, delivering an integrated air picture and expanding surveillance and protection capabilities. The engineer will support test engineering activities, including developing test plans and procedures, establishing requirements traceability, supporting test readiness reviews, executing laboratory and system-level tests, analyzing test data, investigating anomalies, and documenting results. Testing must follow approved procedures, configuration baselines, quality standards, and applicable program requirements. The posting describes qualifications for both Engineer Test Level 2 and Principal Engineer Test Level 3.
Requirements
- Engineer Test Level 2: Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience; associate degree and 4 years; or high school diploma and 6 years.
- Principal Engineer Test Level 3: Bachelor's degree in science and 5 years of experience; associate degree and 7 years; master's degree and 3 years; Ph.D. and 1 year; or high school diploma and 9 years.
- Experience supporting systems engineering, test engineering, integration and test, verification and validation, or related engineering activities.
- Ability to interpret technical requirements, specifications, test procedures, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience documenting test results, identifying discrepancies, and supporting technical investigations.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, written communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to work within established processes and configuration-controlled environments.
- Active security clearance; an active Secret clearance is specified for the Principal Engineer Test Level 3 qualifications.
- Security+ certification is required.
- For the Principal Engineer Test Level 3 role: demonstrated experience in systems, software, integration, and test engineering.
- For the Principal Engineer Test Level 3 role: experience developing and executing test plans, procedures, and verification activities.
- For the Principal Engineer Test Level 3 role: demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop effective solutions.
- For the Principal Engineer Test Level 3 role: experience working across multidisciplinary engineering organizations.
- For the Principal Engineer Test Level 3 role: strong technical communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience testing complex defense, weapons, or other mission-critical systems.
- Experience with software and hardware integration testing.
- Experience with automated test tools and scripting languages such as Python, C/C++, or similar.
- Experience with JIRA, GIT, Jenkins, GitLab, or similar engineering tools.
- Experience with MBSE and digital engineering environments.
