About The Position

The Preventative Maintenance Engineer keeps hotel facilities, equipment, and guest areas in good working order. The role performs preventative maintenance and repairs across a range of trades, responds to work orders and alarms, and assists guests and colleagues. It may also involve safely driving a shuttle van or for other business needs at properties where applicable. The position requires professionalism, sound judgment, and responsible handling of access to sensitive hotel areas and information. The role is based at Staybridge Suites Reno, a newly renovated extended-stay hotel in Reno, Nevada, with guest suites, meeting facilities, a fitness center, and a heated indoor pool.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Valid driver’s license for the applicable state, where required by the property.
Acceptable Motor Vehicle Driving Record (MVR), where required by the property.
Professionalism, good judgment, integrity, and safe driving when driving for business.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
Trade license preferred, such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or carpentry.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs, including replacing bulbs, patching vinyl, painting, and repairing furniture and tiles.
Repair and maintain ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC systems, swimming pool, and hot tub.
Respond promptly to alarms, investigate their causes, and report findings to the Front Desk.
Interact professionally with guests and colleagues, including when working unsupervised.
Handle access to sensitive hotel areas and information responsibly, including safes, master keys, storage rooms, and secured files.
Drive safely for business when required, including operating a shuttle van at properties where applicable.
Respond to work orders and assist wherever needed.
