About The Position

Resorts World Las Vegas is seeking an Engineer, Platform Infrastructure to join their team. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise infrastructure platforms, including compute, virtualization, storage, and core networking. The successful candidate will translate business and technical requirements into scalable, highly available infrastructure solutions, deploy and support platforms like VMware, Nutanix, Cisco UCS, and enterprise storage systems, and monitor system performance, capacity, and availability. Responsibilities also include system patching, firmware upgrades, hardware/software maintenance, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, supporting disaster recovery and backup strategies, and collaborating with various IT teams. The role requires developing and maintaining infrastructure documentation and communicating project status to management and stakeholders. Additionally, the position requires obtaining and maintaining position-specific licensing as required by regulatory or gaming authorities.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in enterprise infrastructure platforms and enterprise storage solutions (e.g., SAN/NAS)
  • Experience in design, deployment, and support of compute, virtualization, storage, and core networking infrastructure.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, and data center fabrics.
  • Strong experience with Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, Oracle Linux, Rocky Linux), including system administration, patching, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Ansible) to improve operational efficiency.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-tier infrastructure issues across compute, storage, and networking.
  • Proficiency in identifying and resolving database performance issues.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, or a related role supporting enterprise environments.
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) or equivalent.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Ability to obtain Gaming Registration.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data center technologies including Cisco UCS, Cisco ACI, and enterprise networking environments.
  • Experience with enterprise virtualization platforms
  • Familiarity with Linux system hardening, security best practices, and audit compliance.
  • Experience with enterprise storage solutions (e.g., Pure Storage, NetApp) and backup platforms such as Veeam.
  • Experience in hospitality systems and business intelligence systems.
  • Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise infrastructure platforms including compute, virtualization, storage, and core networking.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, highly available infrastructure solutions.
  • Deploy and support platforms such as VMware, Nutanix, Cisco UCS, and enterprise storage systems.
  • Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability; provide recommendations for optimization, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
  • Perform system patching, firmware upgrades, and hardware/software maintenance to ensure platform stability and security compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues across compute, storage, networking, and operating systems.
  • Support disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies to ensure resilience of critical systems.
  • Collaborate with application, database, security, and network teams to support deployments, migrations, and operational needs.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Communicate regularly with management and stakeholders on project status, risks, and operational updates.
  • Obtain and maintain position-specific licensing as required by regulatory or gaming authorities.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
