This position is part of the Newport News Shipbuilding Nuclear Reactor Servicing Engineering group, responsible for providing design and engineering support to fuel, refuel and defuel Navy nuclear reactors as well as servicing the same. Reactor Servicing Engineering offers a challenging, high paced, team environment with the opportunity to excel and endless possibilities for professional growth. This position is for a highly experienced engineer with a nuclear background in Navy or commercial nuclear work. This Engineer will be responsible for nuclear work instruction engineering, and technical cognizance of reactor servicing work, mentorship of staff, and providing oversight. This position requires a strong background in technical writing, nuclear problem resolution, and radiological control of nuclear work under the regulatory oversight of the Navy Nuclear Reactors branch of the DOE. Although a security clearance is not required to start, holding a present or past government security clearance is strongly desired. Reactor Servicing Engineering is well suited for any engineering discipline to include General Engineering, Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, Systems, Industrial, Nuclear, and others.
