About The Position

This position supports the Nuclear Construction Engineering department E86 for the Virginia Class Submarine (VCS) and Ford Class Carrier (CVN) projects. Typical duties include: resolving fabrication, installation and operation problems with mechanical systems; developing hydrostatic test equipment and flush gear; evaluating pressure/temperature/flow capabilities of mechanical piping equipment; issuing calculations that support mechanical component or system design, and managing small engineering projects. The Engineer will provide technical oversight for the design, procurement, fabrication, installation, testing, and operation of temporary mechanical systems and hydrostatic test equipment.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience
Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience
Ph.D. and 0 years of experience
Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program

Nice To Haves

Resourceful and well-rounded engineer with mechanical piping system experience, specifically in design, field support, and testing of mechanical piping systems
Project management experience
Ability to work in a team or independently
Working knowledge of ASME standards and engineering software (FEA/CFD)
