About The Position

This position supports the Nuclear Propulsion Overhaul Engineering department E81 for Aircraft Carrier and Submarine overhauls. This position develops engineering solutions, written technical direction, and provides waterfront support for the overhaul and upgrade of Reactor Plant mechanical systems. A successful candidate will possess analytical and problem solving skills to resolve technical issues which arise during nuclear system and component overhaul. The individual shall have the communication and relational skills to interface and discuss technical issues with engineering and non-technical personnel. In addition, the individual will be willing to provide hands-on support on the ship. We are looking for engaged personnel looking to make a difference and uphold the highest level of technical standards required for work in the Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 0 years of experience.
Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Responsibilities

Research and plan processes, tooling, and material needs to provide a completely engineered solution for the execution of nuclear work
Develop technical work instructions such as procedures and troubleshooting paperwork.
Provide on-site support and problem solving for issues that arise during shipboard or shop work.
Research and develop innovative solutions to resolve technical problems.
Project manage work from beginning to end.
