About The Position
The Engineer Mechanical 2 researches, plans, designs, and develops mechanical products and systems, including instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines, and mechanical, thermal hydraulic, or heat-transfer systems for the production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. The role applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and machines. This position is with Newport News Shipbuilding’s CVN MACH SYS&COMP team. It is a first-shift, full-time role based onsite, with no telework eligibility. Travel of up to 10% is required. U.S. citizenship is required; a security clearance is not required to start. Relocation assistance is available.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant exempt experience, or a master’s degree and 0 years of relevant professional experience.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required by Newport News Shipbuilding.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
