About The Position

Martin/Martin is seeking a Civil Investigative Engineer to join our rapidly growing Investigative Engineering Group in our Denver, Colorado office. Our team specializes in developing and managing engineering services for the renovation, restoration, retrofit, and repair of existing site elements, including grading, drainage, pavement systems, subsurface utilities, and roadways. We support a broad range of civil projects, including condition assessments, non-destructive testing, and expert witness services. This role combines in-office design work with on-site evaluations. Candidates should bring a working knowledge of civil site standards, applicable codes, and construction practices, along with the ability to draw informed conclusions from field investigations. Core responsibilities include supporting project managers with field investigations, preparing technical reports, and producing engineering deliverables aligned with project needs. A typical week may involve developing repair drawings, coordinating with project teams, performing engineering analyses, conducting site evaluations, managing construction administration activities, and participating in industry events. Throughout the project lifecycle, you will collaborate closely with property owners, municipalities, architects, and contractors, building strong professional relationships and contributing to successful project outcomes. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum
  • Proficiency with Civil3D
  • Has passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Examination
  • 2-5 years’ experience
  • Must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States, without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to work in the Denver area.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or interest in forensic engineering and/or expert witness support
  • Relevant Intern experience.
  • Knowledge or proficiency with StormCAD, FlowMaster, WaterCAD, AutoTurn.
  • Knowledge of building and material design codes
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently for extended periods of time
  • Strong written, technical, and interpersonal skills
  • Construction field experience
  • Can manage small projects through design
  • GPA of 3.5 or higher
