Requirements

  • Ten (10) years of experience as a Marine Engineer demonstrating the ability to handle growing levels of responsibility.
  • USCG license endorsed as Chief Engineer of Motor Vessels of at least 4000 Horsepower upon the Great Lakes, Near Coastal Waters, Oceans or equivalent.
  • Universal HVAC certification required.
  • Superior mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC skills.
  • CPR and Firefighting training is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be fluent and literate in English.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently, complete projects, and solve problems with limited supervision.
  • Must have the ability to remain calm in emergency or stressful situations.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently move around all areas of the vessel in order to perform accurate inspections.
  • Ability to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to complete all required certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to all departmental and property policies and procedures regarding guest service standards.
  • Updates and manages ongoing preventive maintenance program.
  • Communicates and works hand in hand with Captain in Charge.
  • Responsible for keeping all logs up to date throughout watch as tasks are completed.
  • Keeps all systems up to regulations and demonstrates all tests as required by quarterly USCG inspections.
  • Manages, disciplines, and reviews all engineering team members on designated watch, in accordance with company policy.
  • Plans, manages, and successfully executes ongoing projects in the casino.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all company matters.
