About The Position

The Engineer III is a senior-level Engineering professional responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of all resort mechanical systems, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, kitchen equipment and boilers. All duties are performed in accordance with department and Sunseeker Resort policies, practices and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 6+ years’ commercial experience with HVAC & kitchen equipment
  • Thorough knowledge of Refrigeration systems: low, medium, high temperature, central and remote systems
  • 2+ years experience as a Lead Mechanic or similar
  • Strong knowledge and experience in all areas of mechanical troubleshooting & repair, as well as in building automation systems and auxiliary equipment
  • Working knowledge of all local building systems and codes
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to function well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet established deadlines
  • Must possess mature personal discretion and sound judgment
  • Strong leadership abilities, sound judgment, superior problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and project management skills, with particular attention to quality and detail
  • Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts
  • Professional appearance and demeanor

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair all mechanical equipment related to the successful operation of the Resort; to include boilers, compressors, refrigeration equipment, and generators
  • Sustain all equipment that is driven by steam, electricity, gas, air, diesel, water or any other power developing energy (pneumatic power tools, heavy machinery, wheeled industrial equipment, etc.)
  • Complete work orders within the timeframes given; report any and all additional problems to the appropriate channels
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance of all mechanical systems in accordance with accepted engineering practices, procedures, policies and applicable codes
  • Utilize diagnostic tools, including but not limited to: Amp Meters, Voltmeters, OHM meters, compound gauges and pressure gauges in order to identify needed repairs and potential deficiencies
  • Expert knowledge of hand power tools and standard engineering equipment
  • Gain a thorough understanding of all blueprints and schematics for a full, comprehensive mastery of the campus’ electrical, plumbing, and operational systems
  • General knowledge of mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Perform other duties as assigned
