About The Position

The Engineer III – Systems Engineer Engines provides engineering input to assigned product development projects and interfaces with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations (industrial engineering, production, and material procurement), sourcing, quality, service, and marketing. The role designs, validates, and brings new products to market, and supports product development plans involving schedules, product costs, and design inputs. The engineer specifies product functional requirements; designs, tests, and integrates moderately complex components; and evaluates designs for effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. The role also develops and evaluates fitness-for-use testing, product specifications, and process validation plans; creates and reviews material part specifications and bills of materials; and works with manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers, and product specialists to improve manufacturability. CAD or CAE systems are used to model designs and produce engineering drawings. The engineer also mentors less experienced engineers, may travel to other Generac facilities as necessary, and performs other duties as assigned.
