About The Position

Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute is searching for a Engineer III to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. We are seeking creative and upbeat Engineer III that Will independently perform complex engineering work. Solves multi-dimensional problems related to design, testing, installation and modification of equipment, processes or structures. Experienced contributor to a team; provides guidance to less experienced engineers and technical staff.

Requirements

  • Post-Doctorate Degree
  • 3-5 Years of Engineering Design Process Experience
  • 3-5 Years of Engineering Experience
  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
  • OSHA Hazardous Materials Safety Training

Responsibilities

  • Develop teleoperation, AI, and conventional control techniques for dexterous interaction.
  • Engineer a dexterous soft robot hand including sensing, body and joint design, and actuation.
  • Optimize sensing, body, and joint design for desired robot hand function.
  • Other duties as assigned.
