The Engineer III – Packaged Equipment role is responsible for configuration management and technical control of mechanical system design packages for gas turbine and steam turbine auxiliary equipment supporting Mitsubishi Power projects. This role partners closely with engineering teams to manage interfaces, standards, and configuration integrity, ensuring auxiliary equipment products meet code, contract, quality, and schedule requirements across the portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
  • Minimum six (6) years of relevant technical engineering experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documentation and regulations in English.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports, correspondence, and presentations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering documentation tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with skid manufacturing, rotating equipment, and/or static equipment preferred.
  • Background from EPC firms, OEMs, or skid manufacturers preferred.
  • Experience with specification and application of packaged systems including piping, instrumentation, electrical, and equipment strongly preferred.
  • Experience with static filtration equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret P&IDs and technical documentation to manage and control system interface requirements.
  • Ensure interface, arrangement, electrical, instrumentation, and foundation requirements are properly defined and met.
  • Develop and maintain standard drawings, specifications, and configuration documents.
  • Lead and support configuration management improvements across packaged equipment systems.
  • Develop and adhere to schedules for engineering deliverables.
  • Interpret and integrate design requirements from parent company engineering organizations.
  • Establish and maintain processes and procedures to optimize resource utilization and design quality.
  • Provide regular technical and configuration status updates to management.
  • Interpret end-customer contract technical requirements and ensure incorporation into system designs.
  • Establish corrective actions to reduce nonconformance and improve quality outcomes.
  • Support leadership and provide technical direction to peers and lower-level engineers.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge transfer across the engineering team.
  • Generate ideas for product and configuration improvements.
  • Proactively improve engineering tools, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively in a multicultural and global engineering environment.
