About The Position

The Electrical Engineer III is responsible for performing and coordinating design, development, evaluation, analysis, and quality control functions for advanced and complex engineering projects. The position independently determines and develops solutions to technical problems, applying advanced mathematical, physical science, and engineering technologies. The engineer designs and develops products, instruments, and equipment to meet customer requirements; supports production and inspection methods for complex components and assemblies; and monitors electrical product testing and troubleshoots failures. The role also contributes to procedures and criteria for new products, conducts engineering tests, and uses statistical and scientific methods to resolve engineering and production problems and ensure manufacturability. The engineer refines product definitions to reflect manufacturing capabilities, works with customers, design agencies, and suppliers to resolve issues, and prepares evaluations and recommendations for improvements to products, equipment, procedures, and processes. The position provides project leadership and technical guidance on complex projects. This role supports production drawings for round-wire cable assemblies and authors engineering authorizations as a product engineer. The position is based on-site at KCNSC East in Kansas City, Missouri, with travel required and the possibility of remote, hybrid, or on-site work as directed by management and business needs. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance are required. Employment is contingent on a federal background investigation and pre-employment drug testing.
