About The Position

RRM Design Group is currently seeking an RRMer to join us as a full-time Engineer II on our Structural Engineering team. The Engineer II will provide project design and detailing, including plans (hand sketches and 2D CAD production), calculations (hand calculations and using computer analysis tools), specifications, and estimates, with moderate direction from senior staff. We are open to onboarding an Engineer II in any of our office locations. YOUR ROLE LOOKS LIKE: Producing accurate CAD work that meets RRM appearance and CAD standards. Performing structural analysis for both lateral (wind and seismic) and gravity systems for buildings comprised of steel, concrete, wood, or masonry Knowing the scope and budget available for the tasks assigned and producing work within those constraints. Visiting project sites (rarely) for initial site visit and to confirm design issues, monitor construction, etc. Producing a comprehensive set of building and/or component calculations tailored to the project type and jurisdiction. Creating, editing, and modifying structural plans, drawings, and details; help with producing a complete set of construction documents utilizing AutoCAD (and potentially REVIT) Upholding RRM’s high standards of quality.

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a Structural Concentration
  • Current knowledge of professional codes, laws, computer applications, and trends
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Some work experience in architecture, engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, or planning firm
  • E.I.T. Certification is strongly preferred
  • Experience in AutoCAD and CAD
