Wendel is looking to hire an enthusiastic and highly motivated future Structural Engineer to intern for the summer working directly with our Structural Engineering team in our Rochester, NY office. Our internship program provides hands-on practical experience for students while potentially developing the individual to take on a full-time role with Wendel post-graduation. Internship Purpose: Actively work on projects from concept phase to final design and through construction. Collaborate and share ideas with senior level staff on those projects. Assist with the analysis and design of structural systems/components in steel, concrete, masonry, wood, etc. Participate in project, client and team meetings. Support the team in assisting in conducting facility assessments, writing technical reports, and editing material specifications.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Civil Engineering degree at an accredited institution, with a focus on Structural Engineering.
  • Excellent PC skills. Microsoft Office software experience required.
  • Some knowledge of structural engineering software (Bentley RAM products) 3D modeling software (REVIT and AutoCAD) a huge plus.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow within the Civil Engineering team.
  • Ability to work on-site and travel if needed.
