Engineer II - Web Development

VerisignReston, VA
$89,900 - $121,700Hybrid

About The Position

Verisign is looking for a junior engineer to expand the Verisign Web Marketing Development team. This role involves building and managing high visibility websites that are informational and educational in nature, with a priority on creating performant UX components and templates. The candidate will be involved in all aspects of product development, including ideation, design, implementation, deployment, and issue resolution, often requiring cross-team collaboration with Product, Marketing, Engineering, Security, and Operations teams. The Web Marketing team operates customer-facing web applications and static sites, including the corporate site (verisign.com), product/campaign sites, and a public blog. The team is working towards unifying these sites under a common framework, toolset, and design system for component reuse. They also manage their infrastructure in the public cloud and are responsible for its maintenance and improvement. The team manages front-end components, site templates, themes, Web Components, and a git-based content editing workflow. The team operates like an internal startup with extensive technical ownership, involving all members in most product development phases and allowing flexibility between focus areas. They follow Agile Development methodology with daily Scrums, Jira for ticket prioritization, internal GitHub for code, pull request code reviews, and use Jenkins with pipelines for continuous delivery, with automated deployments via Docker, Ansible, and Terraform.
