The Engineer II (Professional Engineer) is the journey-level classification in the Engineer series and performs advanced professional engineering, construction management, and project management for major Public Works projects, including roads, bridges, drainage, sewer, and utility infrastructure. Under the general direction of the Assistant County Engineer, the position independently manages projects from planning and design through permitting, bidding, construction, inspection, and completion, with responsibility for technical decisions and project results. The Engineer II (Professional Engineer) is a licensed engineer authorized to stamp work products and may provide technical direction, review and approve work of lower-level engineering staff, coordinate staff assignments, and assist with training and performance evaluations. Two (2) positions will be hired.
