The Engineer II, under general supervision, supports the operations team responsible for providing diverse range of plastics testing and characterization services to global polymer manufacturers, compounders, fabricators and end-users. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree: Engineering, Chemistry or related field
  • Experience: 4 – 6 years in plastics testing
  • Ability to interact externally with clients/prospects, and internally with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction and timely response
  • Computer literacy – Windows OS, MS Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in Plastics/ Chemical/ Mechanical Engineering/Materials
  • Understanding of common polymer materials test methods (ASTM, ISO, other)
  • Knowledge of plastics fabrication methods

Responsibilities

  • Set up test apparatus, operate equipment, maintain equipment and facilities
  • Prepare test samples and obtain and record test data in accordance with standards
  • Creates solutions and resolves issues for customers’ testing requirements
  • Work with customers to specify and recommend testing within capabilities
  • Perform analysis of test data and more complex calculations
  • Record data and write reports in standardized formats
  • Participate in proofing of project reports
  • Prepare project files for compliance with operating procedures
  • Make recommendations regarding technical decisions relating to the interpretation and applicability of test standards
  • Communicate with clients and management regarding tests or improvements
  • Mentor and instruct laboratory technicians
  • Perform other duties as required.
