About The Position

Under general supervision, performs routine maintenance and servicing to maintain the hospital buildings and equipment. Responsibilities include performing routine inspections and maintenance of hospital equipment, systems, and infrastructure to guarantee optimal functionality and compliance with safety standards. Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and communications issues throughout the hospital, including patient rooms, corridors, offices, and specialized medical areas. Collaborating with other maintenance team members to prioritize and address maintenance requests in a timely manner, minimizing disruptions to hospital operations. Executing preventive maintenance tasks on a scheduled basis, ensuring that all equipment and systems are in peak operating condition to provide a secure and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status using our computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Monitoring and responding to building automation and control systems, promptly addressing alarms and irregularities to maintain optimal environmental conditions. Assisting in the planning and execution of larger-scale maintenance projects, renovations, and equipment installations as needed. Upholding compliance with relevant regulations and codes while performing maintenance tasks, with a strong focus on infection control and patient safety. Continuously identifying opportunities for operational improvement, cost reduction, and energy efficiency enhancements within the hospital's facilities. Takes care of everyday maintenance duties such as changing lights, putting in new ballasts, and fitting cover plates, while also being able to troubleshoot basic electrical problems. Handles practical tasks like hanging up pictures, setting up bulletin boards, and switching out ceiling tiles and floor tiles, including cove base installation. Deals with plumbing issues promptly, including fixing leaks in toilets, sinks, and other fixtures. Adjusts and calibrates thermostats for optimal comfort. Cleans and replaces filters and vents. Minor repairs and adjustments to door hardware and closures. Maintains and contributes to a safe work environment. Consistently uses tools and equipment correctly on the job. Participate in on-call rotations to provide emergency maintenance support outside of regular business hours. Consistent with the expectations of a committed team member, performs other duties as requested or assigned.

Requirements

1 or more years of professional work experience required.
Class 4 Boiler Operator License from Oklahoma Department of Labor is required within 6 months of employment.
Ability to understand and interpret regulations associated with The Joint Commission Life Safety and Environment of Care chapters, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Oklahoma State Department of Health, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and communication systems, as well as experience with building automation and control systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints effectively.
Detail-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment, following all hospital protocols and regulations.

Nice To Haves

2 or more years of related work experience preferred.
Technical license, certification or apprenticeship preferred.
