About The Position

As an Engineer II, you will be responsible for supporting components of the enterprise file and data platforms to meet strategic operations support requirements for Western Alliance Bank. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, MIS, or Data & Analytics.
  • 1+ years of data engineering experience, including ETL processes, enterprise data warehousing, and database principles.
  • Basic knowledge of RDBMS and query languages such as T-SQL, PL/SQL or Spark SQL, and code scripting and concepts of code logic.
  • Willingness to tackle new challenges and continuously learn modern automation and integration methods and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Entry level to intermediate organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with team members, stakeholders, and external partners with proficiency in ADO.
  • Intermediate experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure), pipeline management tools like Azure DevOps or Jira, and working on projects.
  • Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills.
  • Certifications within industry software platforms or cloud tools.
  • Familiarity with file, code and data management tools such as Visual Studio, VS Code, WinSCP, WinMerge, SQL Server Management Studio, Azure DevOps, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong proficiency in SSIS and Azure Data Factory preferred.
  • Entry level to intermediate knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking is preferred.
  • Entry level to intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards, and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering and operational orchestration solutions for end-to-end file and data processing requirements.
  • Provide break/fix support for enterprise platform components and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure built-in quality and compliance-by-design in all process solutions.
  • Assist with deployment activities for smooth implementation of file and data processing solutions.
  • Troubleshoot file, data, API, and orchestration situations to identify and resolve issues promptly, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
  • Collaborate with enterprise operations teams to enhance business solutions support across the organization.
