The Engineering Division within the Department of Public Works is seeking a motivated individual to fill the role of Engineer II and become a key member of our Capital Projects Team. The Capital Projects Team is responsible for the project management, design, and construction of City Capital projects, delivering an annual Capital Improvement Program of $50 million to $70 million with projects in transportation, surface water, wastewater, and facilities. The selected individual will directly manage or support the management of Capital Projects from planning through design and construction close-out and/or infrastructure programs. This role is particularly interested in candidates with expertise and an interest in supporting surface water and wastewater capital projects. The project management role involves planning, management, and design (or oversight of engineering consultants for design) of capital projects from inception through construction close-out in collaboration with other team members and managers. Project management assignments will include a variety of project types such as Roadway projects, New sidewalk and sidewalk rehabilitation projects, Off corridor bike network projects, Surface water projects, Wastewater projects, and Facilities projects. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and in inter-divisional teams to develop and deliver projects within established schedules and budgets.
