About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Pipeline Integrity Engineer to join our pipeline integrity management team. This role supports ONEOK'S natural gas and hazardous liquid programs through the execution of ONEOK's pipeline risk modeling software. This role requires a strong understanding of pipeline threats, risk modeling methodologies, data management and analysis to evaluate pipeline threats and mitigation strategies that support informed decision making for all of ONEOK's stakeholders. Duties include data collection and QA/QC for model integration, risk algorithm validation, development and generation of various risk reports and visualizations, supporting regulatory inspections, and collaboration with the team to drive data collection and quantification of pipeline risks. Experience with SQLite data sets and ESRI ArcGIS Pro is preferred. This role is eligible for a hybrid schedule which requires an in-office presence three days a week. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or closely related field and the following job related experience preferred
  • Experience and training related to: Transmission/gathering pipeline operations Gas measurement and regulation activities Processing and/or storage operations Company/governmental operating and safety procedures Pipeline stress/strain analyses
  • Experience in engineering design and knowledge of criteria for natural gas and/or NGLs in pipeline systems
  • Experience at this level is typically attained with four or more years of experience in engineering, operations and/or project management
  • Experience in use and function of applications such as: Microsoft Excel, Project, Access, Word, etc.
  • Experience researching and preparing project materials and design specifications, contracts, agreements, budgets, engineering studies, and other relevant reports, forms, and correspondence
  • Experience identifying, researching, understanding, evaluating, and prioritizing operational problems and coordinating appropriate action/response
  • Knowledge of: pipelines or hydrocarbon processing and related facilities design, construction, operation, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of: material failure and structural analysis and industry standards and governmental regulations
  • Ability to: read and interpret governmental regulations, blueprints, contracts, manuals, specifications, surveys, charts, load studies, and other relevant reports and correspondence
  • Ability to: analyze and resolve issues and/or questions concerning engineering design and calculations with supervisor assistance as needed on more design and calculations
  • Ability to: manage and prioritize multiple assignments with competing deadlines
  • Ability to: recommend and implement new initiatives and complete projects
  • Ability to: apply math, algebraic formulas, and statistical methods
  • Ability to: interact, negotiate and communicate effectively
  • Ability to: operate office tools and equipment required
  • Ability to: communicate thoughts, ideas, information, messages, and other written information, which may contain technical material, in a logical, organized, and coherent manner

Responsibilities

  • Performs, provide support for the Identification, measurement, and analysis of the quantitative pipeline risk model
  • Visualizes information and develops reports on the results of data analysis using data visualization tools
  • Broad use and/or application of advanced risk management principles/theories/concepts/techniques
  • Utilizing data pipelines to build, validate, and manage data sources for analysis.
  • Apply data management principles to ensure appropriate governance and accuracy of data.
  • Contribute input to pipeline risk management strategy and provide feedback to help identify pipeline threat drivers and preventative and mitigative measures
  • Use mathematical and statistical methods to develop insights.
  • Oral and written communications of conclusions and functional recommendations to both internal and external clients
  • Research, analyze, prepare and/or approve information needed for regulatory inspections
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and assist with implementation of new processes
