About The Position

The purpose of this job is to design, test, and implement new and/or improve existing features into Data & AI data products. This role involves researching, designing, building, testing, and tracking new descriptive and predictive applications for Data & AI that deliver impact to the organization. The position also assists in forming business strategy through exploratory data analysis and business understanding, and integrates data from disparate sources (internal and external) into data products consumed by business stakeholders. Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining architecture and systems documentation for analytical products, managing data product source code in a source control repository (GitHub), and identifying opportunities for improvement in data quality to enhance performance and accuracy. The role also involves consulting on and executing process automation, implementing data structures using best practices for data modeling and visualization, and establishing Data & AI Data best practices to build single-source-of-truth foundational accuracy. Continuous improvement of data pipelines and simplification of self-service support for business stakeholders and Business Analysts are also crucial. The position participates in Data and Analytics Governance best practices by documenting data structures, pipelines, and outputs across the organization. Additionally, the role requires modeling behaviors that support the company’s common purpose, ensuring guests and team members are supported, and ensuring all activities comply with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. The Engineer II, Analytics will also drive discussions with senior leaders to generate insights and complete other assigned duties.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, engineering, or other quantitative discipline required
Expertise in SQL
Experience working in source control tools, such as GitHub
Experience in R or Python
Experience with Microsoft Office required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize, execute tasks and meet deadlines
Attention to detail and follow-up skills
Problem solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to take initiative, work independently and as part of a team
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information ethically and responsibly

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree preferred
Minimum 3 years' experience in analytics/engineering or related industries preferred
Experience working with Cloud Data Warehouse technology such as Databricks preferred
Experience in Shiny/Streamlit applications preferred
Experience in Tableau preferred

Responsibilities
