The Engineer I works with electrical and mechanical engineers to execute the design, fabrication, testing, and integration of ground- and space-based electrical harness and wiring assembly projects. The role contributes to the full lifecycle of mechanical and electrical wire harness design, from concept through implementation, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure designs comply with system-level requirements. The position supports harness component selection; creates 3D mechanical routing models, cable assembly drawings, and electrical system diagrams; and helps develop harness support features and manufacturing aids. The engineer also supports harness assembly, integration, and test activities, and participates in design reviews to collect stakeholder feedback and incorporate lessons learned and best practices. The position requires regular on-site work at the primary work location at least three days each normally scheduled week. Work may take place in an office, laboratory, production floor, cleanroom, outdoors, or a remote research environment. Occasional work in production areas may require protective equipment, and access to other facilities in varied weather conditions may be required. Travel and local commuting between company campuses and other locations may also be required. A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required for eligibility, but the applicant must be willing and eligible to submit for applicable clearance or access after accepting an offer, depending on program requirements, and be able to maintain it.
