About The Position
This position will review applications, engineering reports, and engineering drawings/ specifications, provide construction management for DEMLR projects and serve as a liaison for the program to municipalities, consulting engineers, the public, interest groups, organizations, and the Division.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of engineering from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- May require registration as a professional engineer by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
Responsibilities
- Reviews applications, completes timely and detailed reviews of engineering plan submittal.
- Ensures timely and detailed review of engineering drawings and specifications for compliance with Federal and State laws, rules, and policies, and good engineering practices.
- Performs inspections of sites/facilities.
- Advises and provides engineering guidance and written technical/compliance documentation to staff and clients.
- Meets with applicants and their consultants to facilitate project development, design, construction, and ultimately permit approval and site compliance.
