This position involves performing actions defined by customers to complete component manufacturing documentation and obtain customer approvals, qualifying as a source for production of specific products. The role requires investigating and initiating corrective action on manufacturing problems, establishing operating equipment specifications, improving manufacturing techniques, and introducing new process equipment. The engineer will interface with design personnel to ensure process and design compatibility, review and evaluate engineering changes, and perform technical liaison functions with production planning and engineering. Recommendations for alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures will be made. The position also involves preparing engineering schematics and parts lists, providing advisory support in the analysis and evaluation of production practices, compiling and evaluating test and production data, and conducting analysis of method and time standards. Assignments typically include design and development, materials testing, preparation of specifications, process study, report preparation, and other activities requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in the specific area of assignments. The candidate must be capable of delivering on commitments in a timely and efficient manner. Additional responsibilities may include training and developing less experienced technical personnel, observing the Hitchiner code of conduct, safety and quality principles, and performing other duties as assigned. This position involves access to technical data, materials, and/or hardware subject to ITAR and/or EAR regulations, requiring employees to meet export control eligibility requirements.
