Requirements

  • Basic understanding of software development methodologies and principles.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages and related tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 1-2 years of experience in software engineering or a related technical role.
  • Experience supporting student loan servicing, loan origination, payment processing, collections, or related financial services operations.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
  • Experience working with SQL, data analysis tools, or reporting platforms.
  • Experience supporting API-based integrations and modern technology platforms.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled business processes, automation tools, or data-driven decision-making solutions.
  • Experience working directly with application development and engineering teams.
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements within financial services.

Responsibilities

  • An Engineer I will be responsible for supporting the planning, administration, and technical support of operating system capabilities.
  • Includes designing, developing, and troubleshooting or debugging software programs for enhancements and new products.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of engineering solutions, adhering to best practices and project requirements.
  • Conduct testing and quality assurance activities to ensure the reliability and functionality of deliverables.
  • Help troubleshoot technical issues and provide support to resolve challenges during project execution.
  • Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to engineering projects.
  • Prepare reports and summaries to communicate project progress, milestones, and outcomes.
