About The Position

We are seeking motivated early-career cloud engineers to join our team and contribute to building reliable, scalable, and high-quality applications. In this role, you will take ownership of small-to-medium features, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and continuously grow your technical expertise. You’ll work in an environment that values learning, mentorship, and engineering best practices while gaining hands-on experience with production systems, technical design, and real-world problem solving. In this role, you'll primarily work virtually from home or another non‑Best Buy location. However, you must live within a drivable distance to our corporate campus in Richfield, Minnesota. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team, and the recruiter or hiring manager will provide additional details during the hiring process. Requirements

  • 2 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience, can include schooling
  • 1 year of experience with at least one programming language and fundamental software development practices, preferably Python
  • 2 years of experience delivering mid- large sized compute platform features independently with strong technical execution
  • 2 years Linux experience
  • 1 year of experience with AWS IAM Roles and Permissions, security groups, monitoring and logging
  • 1 year of experience in EC2/VM system architecture, design and implementation as a service

Nice To Haves

  • AWS Solutions Architect Professional Certification
  • 3 years of professional experience
  • 1 year of experience supporting AWS EC2, Auto-Scaling and Application Load Balancing
  • 1 year of configuration management tooling experience: Terraform, Chef, Puppet & Ansible
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a willingness to mentor and continuously learn
  • Ability to identify risks, solving moderately complex problems, and make sound technical trade-offs
  • Familiarity with SDLC, agile practices, and modern development tools (testing, monitoring, automation)

Responsibilities

  • Independently deliver small to moderately complex compute platform features and bug fixes from backlog to production
  • Participate in technical design discussions and contribute ideas with guidance from Senior Engineers
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development and production environments, including on-call support
  • Apply engineering best practices to improve system reliability, performance, and availability
  • Collaborate with teammates and stakeholders to clarify requirements and reduce rework
  • Identify opportunities to improve team productivity through automation and process improvements
  • Build relationships across teams and begin mentoring less experienced engineers
