About The Position

GE Aerospace is seeking a Fluid Systems Design Engineer to support the research and development of fluid delivery systems for hypersonic air-breathing propulsion and vehicle systems. In this role, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team to design, analyze, test, and mature fluid system technologies that support the development of flight-ready hardware. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in engineering principles, strong analytical and test capability, and the ability to contribute effectively in a collaborative technical environment. This role offers the opportunity to support advanced propulsion applications through computational analysis, hardware validation, and cross-functional problem solving.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college OR a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in relevant job family group(s)/function(s)
• 0-3 years of experience in the design, analysis, and testing of fluid delivery systems
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and ability to apply them to technical tasks
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• U.S. citizenship required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
• Willingness to work onsite in Bohemia, NY or Rockledge, FL
• Must meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status.

Responsibilities

• Develop and analyze fluid delivery systems in support of ground and flight test models of high-speed airbreathing engines for various GE Aerospace development programs.
• Perform research and development for the next generation of aircraft engine and aerospace technologies.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to design, analyze, and test fluid delivery systems for high-speed air-breathing engines, using results to inform the design of flight-ready systems.
• Apply core engineering principles to technical assignments and fluid system development activities.
• Lead and participate in computational analyses to guide design improvements, using both spreadsheet-based tools and multiphysics solvers.
• Document and communicate assumptions, inputs, analysis methods, and proposed solutions to multidisciplinary teams for technical review.
• Support the validation of new designs and technologies through benchtop testing and larger-scale test activities.
• Prepare presentations and briefing materials to communicate technical ideas, project status, and recommendations.
• Work effectively with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to develop and verify novel design solutions that meet program objectives for technical performance, cost, and schedule.
• Interact with industry partners and subcontractors to review analyses, concepts, and design approaches.
• Demonstrate a working understanding of business drivers and how individual work integrates with team and program goals.
• Exercise sound technical judgment within defined procedures and seek guidance from senior team members when needed.
• Build effective working relationships across teams and clearly explain technical information to others.
