About The Position

The Engineer Enterprise Data Intelligence supports the development and maintenance of data pipelines, datasets, and dashboards used across HISD’s ERP domains. This role works with data from Oracle Fusion, SAP, and related enterprise systems to ensure that reports are timely, accurate, and aligned with operational needs. The Engineer collaborates with senior staff and analysts to deliver visualizations and data sets in Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, supporting districtwide decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, computer science, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in data reporting, analytics, or engineering.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and Power BI required.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, DAX, and data transformation tools
  • Experience building and supporting Power BI datasets and reports
  • Familiarity with data pipeline tools such as Azure Data Factory
  • Understanding of data quality, data governance, and user access principles
  • Strong collaboration and documentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain data flows between enterprise systems and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Support the development and publishing of datasets and reports in Power BI.
  • Work with stakeholders to clarify business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Perform data validation, formatting, and cleansing to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Monitor data refreshes and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Document logic, formulas, and source systems used in each report or dashboard.
  • Support historical reporting and reconciliation efforts during ERP transition periods.
  • Assist with user access, workspace permissions, and role-level security in Power BI.
  • Participate in testing new datasets, visuals, and platform features.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
