About The Position

This role focuses on establishing and maintaining global engineering standards and procedures, particularly concerning item/BOM and document management. The engineer will collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders worldwide to ensure consistency and effective communication of engineering design information. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing standards, leading data transformation activities with external partners, managing projects, and driving improvements in data quality, classification, and governance. The position requires strong analytical skills to identify improvement opportunities, lead data cleansing efforts, and provide expert guidance on part classification and data structuring. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to align on requirements and drive adoption of standards. The role also involves maintaining data integrity through audits and analysis, reporting on findings, and acting as a change agent for the adoption of new practices.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial experience
  • Demonstrated experience with PLM or similar data management systems
  • Strong knowledge of engineering processes, systems, and design tools
  • Strong knowledge of engineering, industrial, and international standards
  • Strong analytical and data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and support data-driven decision-making
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the application of Continuous Improvement Process tools

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Engineering subject matter experts and cross-functional stakeholders globally to establish item/BOM and document standards that ensure consistency and effective communication of engineering design information delivered through items, BOMs, and related documentation to internal and external customers.
  • Develop, document, implement, and maintain global engineering standards, procedures, and data governance practices.
  • Lead coordination with external partners on technical data transformation activities, including planning, progress tracking, issue resolution, and overall support.
  • Manage assigned projects and initiatives from planning through completion.
  • Drive the development and continuous improvement of item/BOM, document, and part classification standards to enhance the consistency, usability, and governance of engineering data.
  • Use data analysis to identify improvement opportunities in classification logic, attribute definitions, legal value lists, deduplication, and the creation of trusted engineering records.
  • Lead data cleansing, enrichment, consolidation, and deduplication efforts to improve data quality and establish a reliable golden record.
  • Provide expert guidance on part classification and data structuring in accordance with international standards and internal governance requirements, ensuring consistent, accurate, high-quality, and well-structured engineering data across the organization.
  • Establish and govern global parts libraries, including CAD/item relationship, to support part reuse, standardized item creation, and supply chain needs.
  • Define, maintain, and govern material, quality, and process requirement libraries to ensure alignment and consistency across engineering systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders globally to align on standards, workflows, and engineering data requirements, resolve issues, and drive adoption.
  • Provide responsive, customer-focused support to internal and external stakeholders while fostering effective communication and collaboration across engineering teams and cross-functional partners.
  • Maintain high levels of data integrity through regular audits, data validation, and quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with established standards.
  • Analyze engineering and technical data to identify patterns, inconsistencies, root causes, and opportunities to improve data quality, governance, standardization, and part reuse.
  • Prepare and present reports on findings, trends, and key metrics to stakeholders.
  • Ensure clear and consistent documentation of data structures, classifications, standards, and methodologies to support compliance, transparency, and effective knowledge sharing.
  • Act as an effective change agent, driving adoption and long-term acceptance of company-wide engineering standards, practices, and procedures.
