About The Position

Reporting to the Manager of System Integration and Simulation Test, the Electrical System Test Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the development, integration, and testing of aircraft systems and subsystems in a laboratory setting. This position is responsible for engineering ownership of lab electrical drawings and test setup schematics, ensuring all lab configurations accurately reflect test requirements and as-built conditions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
  • 3+ years’ experience with electrical CAD and wiring design tools (for example, 3DX Electrical, Capital Harness, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar)
  • Familiarity with aircraft systems and subsystems, including avionics, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Proficiency with lab instrumentation tools such as DAQ systems, oscilloscopes, and signal conditioners
  • Experience with requirements and configuration-tracking documentation systems

Responsibilities

  • Create, modify, and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnect diagrams, and test setup schematics for simulator and laboratory environments
  • Develop bench-level electrical interconnect drawings for test rigs, iron bird systems, and component-level validation setups, including pinouts, shielding, routing specifications, and simulator-to-hardware connections
  • Generate and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs), signal routing documentation, and configuration-controlled as-built drawings aligned with program standards
  • Define pin-to-pin wiring between LRUs and test equipment, power distribution for test benches, and grounding/signal reference schemes
  • Translate test requirements into lab wiring configurations to simulate aircraft systems
  • Support installation of sensors, actuators, and electrical load banks
  • Support lab readiness for test execution, including coordination of power and load simulation setups
  • Interpret aircraft and laboratory electrical schematics, system interface documents, and test requirements to develop executable lab configurations
  • Perform engineering-level troubleshooting of test configurations and electrical interfaces, distinct from technician-level execution
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate system performance and functionality
  • Conduct testing and gather data to support system validation and verification
  • Generate reports to document test results and provide recommendations for system improvements
  • Develop and execute test campaigns and review/analyze data to support system validation and verification
  • Maintain and update lab equipment, software, and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
